Description
This is a hand-painted Mexican Talavera pottery plate. The plate features a vibrant design characteristic of the traditional style, including a basket of fruit with blue and green grapes and orange fruits, bordered by a distinct blue and white pattern. Talavera pottery is a traditional Mexican ceramic artwork, known for its intricate patterns and brilliant colors. Authentic Talavera is a type of tin-enameled earthenware (Majolica pottery) made in Puebla, Mexico, and nearby communities, using specific local clays. Genuine Talavera pieces are hand-formed and hand-painted, typically using six specific color pigments, and are fired twice. Many Talavera plates are 100% lead-free, chip and crack resistant, and can be used for food serving or as decorative wall art. W: 17" Good condition.
