Description
A printed reproduction of the oil painting "Resolution and Discovery" by Raymond Massey. It depicts Captain James Cook's ships at anchor in the Hawaiian Islands during his third and final voyage of exploration. The painting illustrates the arrival of Captain Cook's vessels, HMS Resolution and HMS Discovery, off the coast of Hawaii (specifically near Kauai or Tahiti) in 1778. The scene captures the interaction between European explorers and the native islanders who came out in their traditional watercraft to greet the ships. H: 24" | W: 32" Good condition.
