Description
A framed print of Pablo Picasso's famous lithograph series called Le Taureau (The Bull), created in 1945 and 1946. This series of eleven images illustrates the process of artistic abstraction, where a realistic depiction of a bull is progressively simplified to its essential form. The series begins with a detailed and naturalistic drawing of a bull. In each successive image, Picasso pared down the animal's form, moving through various stages of deconstruction and simplification. The final image is a minimalist outline, compared to a hieroglyph, that nonetheless captures the power and bulk of the animal. Picasso made the initial drawing on December 5, 1945, and completed the final, eleventh image on January 17, 1946. H: 31" | W: 43" Good condition.
