Description
The Asahi Pentax Spotmatic is a classic 35mm single-lens reflex (SLR) film camera, renowned for its durable all-metal construction, precision mechanics, and timeless design. It comes paired with the Super-Takumar 55mm f/1.8 prime lens. Featuring through-the-lens (TTL) metering, a pioneering feature at the time, the Spotmatic allows photographers to achieve accurate exposures directly through the viewfinder. It is equipped with a fully mechanical shutter offering speeds from 1 second to 1/1000 second, plus Bulb mode, and supports film speeds (ISO) from 20 to 1600. The camera uses the M42 screw mount, making it compatible with a wide range of vintage lenses. Released in 1964, the Pentax Spotmatic became one of Japan’s most iconic cameras—famously purchased by The Beatles during their visit to Japan—and remains a favorite among collectors and analog photography enthusiasts today. Approximate dimensions: H: 4" × W: 5.5". Good condition, includes original strap.
