Description

This is an original 1984 Austin Productions sculpture titled Beginnings, created by artist David Fisher. The piece is cast in Austin Productions’ signature sculptural composite and depicts a modernist, abstract mother-and-child form, symbolizing connection, affection, and new beginnings. The sculpture features smooth organic curves and a continuous flowing shape characteristic of Fisher’s early figurative work. It is signed and dated on the base. David Fisher is a Toronto-based sculptor and photographer whose practice includes work in paper, metal, plastic, wood, and digital modeling technologies. He frequently reconfigures geometric forms, familiar objects, and iconic shapes within his work. Fisher has exhibited site-specific installations in downtown Toronto and at York University, and his work appears in private collections. Dimensions: H 12.5" × W 12" × L 6.5". Condition is good with light expected wear.
