Description
This early 20th-century Chinese porcelain figurine represents the Kangxi Emperor, the fourth ruler of the Qing Dynasty, who reigned from 1662 to 1722. Commonly associated with the Fujian Province Association, the piece reflects traditional craftsmanship and artistry. Crafted from pottery or porcelain, the figurine is hand-painted with a colorful enamel glaze in a style reminiscent of wucai ware, known for its vivid, multi-hued decoration and fine detail. The emperor is portrayed standing regally, wearing an elaborate royal blue robe adorned with a yellow dragon medallion on the chest and intricate decorative motifs throughout. He dons a red and black formal court hat and features a painted mustache and goatee. In his hands, he holds a red ruyi scepter, a traditional Chinese symbol representing good fortune, power, and “as you wish”. Good condition.
