Description
This natural geological specimen originates from Northeastern Arizona and may be identified as either Arizona Desert Stone, a form of high-desert sandstone shaped by water, wind, and time, or Petrified Wood, fossilized remains of ancient trees from the Late Triassic period (over 200 million years ago). The stone exhibits a striking contrast between its earthy brown exterior and glossy black, polished interior face, revealing its unique natural patterning. Petrified wood from this region is known for its rich coloration due to iron and manganese oxides and is recognized as the official State Fossil of Arizona. Made in the U.S.A. H: 2" | W: 5", good condition.
