Description
Signed lithograph by Jovan Obican, numbered 189/1000. Colorful print of a man with a duck in basket on back and bird in hand. The artist's signature is on the bottom right of the print. It is framed with glass and has a wire attached to the back for hanging. Measures 28" tall and 20" long. Besides some very light scratches on the metal frame, this piece is in great condition. Jovan Obican (1918-1986) was a French painter and lithographer best known for his depictions of folklore and traditional costumes rendered in a playful, childlike style. He often used bright colors and black outlines in his renderings of figures and animals, giving his work an illustration-like quality.
