Description
Antique Japanese Lusterware Fine China Creamer, Sugar Bowl, and Tray. This fine china set features the distinctive Lusterware iridescence with a hand-painted floral motif and colors of orange, yellow, cream, and blue. The tray is marked with a makers mark that reads "Hand Painted, Nippon, Made in Japan", and features what could be the symbol for the Mitsua Bussan Kaisha exporting company. This set might have also been manufactured and exported between 1891-1921 due the presence of the word "Nippon" which was added to exported items from Japan between 1891-1921 to comply with the McKinley Tariff Act which required all porcelain to bear the name of the country that produced it. The measurements of each item are as follows: Sugar Bowl: 5.5" x 2.5" x 2.25" Creamer: 4" x 2" x 2" Tray: 7.75" x 6.5" All items in this lot are in good condition.
