Description
Large batik artwork by Amos Amit. Signed and dated by artist in lower right hand corner. Batik is a complex process created on fabric, with the use of hot wax acting as a resist to various natural dyes. This application of dyes and wax is repeated many times. In the end the wax is removed, revealing the vibrant final piece. Amos Amit has received numerous prestigious national and international awards. He is a member of the Beverly Hills and Los Angeles Art Associations and the American Crafts Council. It is framed and matted with glass and has a wire attached to the back for hanging. Measures 35" tall and 45" long. Frame has a few spots and scratches, otherwise piece is in great condition.
