Description
Hand Carved Dutch Wooden Wedding Clogs Bridal Shoes, handmade in Holland. There is a bit of literature included regarding their origin. About their origin: These are known as bridal shoes. They were given to a bride by her bridegroom as part of a very old custom. Chip- carved by the man while he was away at sea, the shoes were given upon his return as a marriage proposal to his future bride. The carved shoes were worn as a symbol of betrothal and were worn at their wedding.
