Description
"Mounted Knight" Reproduction from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Bashford Dean Memorial Collection. Western European, about A.D. 1300. Featuring a galloping knight in full panoply, with sword and shield as he charges into battle. The original gilt-bronze relief in the Museum's collection was probably once part of the decoration of a tomb effigy. A master mold for the reproduction was taken from the original piece. It is cast in brass, antiqued and mounted on a black painted wood panel. Comes with a short description of the piece written by the Metropolitan Museum. There is a hook on the back for hanging. Measures approximately 8"x 6.75". Good condition.
