Description

This lot features a pair of Road Champs “Flyers” die-cast metal scale models that depict two different vintage aircraft. The first model depicts the Douglas C-47 Military Transport Aircraft 5 years after the end of WWII, with the then-new United States Air Force Livery. A small blurb at the bottom of the package mentions the nickname of the aircraft as “The Gooney Bird” in reference to their resemblance to the giant species albatross that called their airbase home. The blurb also mentions that the aircraft was also once again called to service for the US-Korean War. The second model depicts a Vought F-4U Corsair, a legendary naval plane painted in the colors of the United States Marine Corps during WWII. The blurb on at the bottom of the package mentions that the F-4U was used extensively by the USMC in the South Pacific during WWII. Both models come in their original packaging and appear to have never been removed. The packaging does have some wear and tear, but the models are intact. The F-4U Model has a slightly bent propeller. All items in this lot are in good condition.
