Description

This is a vintage Fender ST-50 Stratocaster with a Candy Apple Red body with white pickguard and black fretboard. The Fender Stratocaster was first introduced 1954, and quickly set the standard of all electric guitars today thanks to its innovative design and features. The Stratocaster, or “Strat” as it’s lovingly referred to by artists, features an ergonomic body designed to fit comfortably with the forearm and body of the player, three single-coil pickups, and a synchronized tremolo bridge that can be activated with a tremolo arm. Famous artists that have used the Stratocaster as their instrument of choice include Buddy Holly, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Eddie Van Halen, Kurt Cobain, George Harrison, and Pete Townshend. This particular Stratocaster has the serial number K015846, which indicates that it was manufactured in Japan between 1990-1991 at the Fujigen plant for Fender of Japan, and is number #15846 in line. Fender started manufacturing guitars in Japan after the closure of the Fullerton plant in 1985 in order to combat the rise of imported guitars being sold in the USA, and for a short while, all guitars manufactured by Fender were made in Japan. It wasn’t until the opening of the new company headquarters in Corona, CA in 1986 that manufacturing for the USA resumed. Although the original Fujigen-Fender collaboration ended in 2015, The Fender Music Corporation took over manufacturing in Japan and now makes exclusive Japanese-Market guitars. This guitar comes with a red strap and matching cables, and also comes in case. The carrying case measures approximately 42” x 14” x 5”. All items in this lot are in good condition.
