Description
This lot contains a handwoven wool rug made by Setsoto Designs from Teyateyaneng, in the former Kingdom of Lesotho, South Africa. Setsoto Designs is still active today, making and selling handmade wool tapestries and rugs made by local artists. This rug was made by an artist named Emely Tsiame, and is named “Carrying Wood”. This rug depicts a group of women carrying wood, with their depiction being bordered by a design that features gourds and other vegetables. The rug measures approximately 102” x 52”, and is in good condition.
