Description
Phil Paradise (1905-1997) was born in Ontario, Oregon. He studied art with F. Tolles Chamberlin, Rico Lebrun and Leon Droll. Paradise worked in a regional style in the late 1920s and 1930s. After the mid 1940s, his paintings changed in both style and subject matter. He traveled and lived in Mexico, Central America and Caribbean countries drawing most of his subject matter from these areas. "Tomas" features a depiction of a young Mexican boy with traditional garb and a machete, done in Paradise's signature style. This lithograph is signed in pencil by the artist, and also features an embossed stamp of the printer in the lower right corner. The lithograph is framed and measures approximately 13.5" x 17.5". The lithograph is in good condition.
