Description
The M2 mask was used by the US Army, replacing the M1. The M2 was developed and used during the second world war, from 1941, to 1949. The M2A2 was developed to improve upon the M2A1 gas mask, and included a redesign to the outlet valve which now featured a round shape with concentric circle grillwork. This particular mask was manufactured by the Good Year company, and is date stamped “LOT P401-1” and “5 42”, which indicates that this mask was manufactured in May of 1942. The mask measures approximately 9” x 6” x 6”, and is in good condition.
