Description
Claire Lerner was a ceramics artist and was part of the Southern California pottery scene from the 1940s-1950s. The Claire Lerner Studio produced this piece in 1952, and was known as the “Fawn and Doe”. This lot consists of two pieces; a miniature ceramic glazed sculpture depicting a doe and her fawn standing in reeds, and a large dish shaped to resemble a pond. Both the dish and the sculpture is finished with a bright yellow glaze. The dish measures approximately 13.5” x 10” x 2”, and the sculpture measures approximately 6” x 2.5” x 7.5”. All pieces in this lot are in good condition.
