Description

This is a lot of Chicago-based TootsieToys toy cars. Tootsietoy is a manufacturer of die cast toy cars and other toy vehicles which was originally based in Chicago, Illinois. Though the Tootsietoy name has been used since the 1920s, the company's origins date from about 1890. The first car in this lot is the "Ford GT" with light blue enamel paint. The toy actually depcits the Ford "J-car", a race car that was designed to replace the Ford GT40 under the Appendix-J rules for Le Mans, but was ultimately redeveloped into the Ford GT40 MkIV after the prototype crashed, killing Ken Miles. The second car in the lot is hot rod pickup truck painted in the same light blue paint. The last car in the lot is a Chevrolet El Caminio. This car is missing most of its paint, and the entire roof has been lost. Each car in this lot measures approximately between 2"-2.5" long, and are in fair condition.
