Description
This is a pair of vintage Splitkein Bass wooden snow skis. "Splitkein" is Norwegian for "split cane", which refers to the revolutionary method of gluing and laminating thin layers of wood to create a wooden composite ski that was lighter and stronger than traditional wooden skis. This method was first introduced in the late 1930s and was still used up until the 1970s, when these skis were likely made. The pair of skis also come with a pair of 49" wooden ski poles. Each ski measures approximately 70" long and 2.25" wide, and both the poles and the skis are in good condition.
