Description
This is an antique walnut "commode" dresser from the Victorian Era. The original definition of a commode was "a piece of furniture with drawers and shelves". It wasn't until later that a "commode" refered to either a toilet or a piece of furniture that hid a chamber pot. This piece of furniture features three large drawers that can be pulled out by the hanging brass knobs. The dresser also rolls around on brass wheels, making it easier to move. The dresser measures approximately 36.5" x 15" x 33", and is in fair condition. A few of the knobs have fallen off over the years, however, they have not been lost and they come with the dresser inside its drawers.
