Description
Madame Alexander Celebrates American Design Cissy Doll. Madame Alexander dolls were first created in 1923 by Beatrice Alexander Behrman, who was also known as Madame Alexander. In 1955, Madame Alexander introduced "Cissy", the first American fashion doll to be modeled after an adult figure. This Cissy doll is from the 1999 "Madame Alexander Celebrates American Design" Collection. Limited edition #487/1500. The doll has movable head and limbs, painted features and open/close sleep eyes. The back of the doll's neck is marked "Madame Alexander 1990". Comes with certificate of authenticity. The doll measures approximately 21" tall. Stand not included. The doll is missing shoes and the head is not hooked to the torso but can be easily repaired, otherwise good condition.
