Description
"She'd Rather Dance" Gene Doll produced by The Ashton-Drake Galleries. Gene is a collectible fashion doll inspired by the Golden Age of Hollywood. Created by Mel Odom, she debuted in 1995 and was one of the first large fashion dolls targeted towards adult collectors. The Gene line was produced by Ashton-Drake from 1995-2005, then by Integrity Toys from 2006-2010. Fashions for Gene exemplify the wardrobe of a Hollywood film star; glamorous film costumes, day and evening wear of the mid 20th century. The Gene doll collection features collector-quality vinyl with a finish that mimics fine porcelain. The dolls have hand-painted features, hand-applied lashes, and period coiffures rooted and styled by hand. The wardrobe is crafted of quality fabrics with impeccable tailoring details, with vintage accessories designed precisely to scale. This Gene doll was released in 1999. Comes with a stand and pictured outfit. Measures approximately 15.5" tall. Good condition.
