Description
Sterling silver two-handled loving cup marked by Howard & Co., New York, the baluster body chased in repoussé with flowers, acanthus and C-scrolls (the chasing reads through on the interior), with cast scroll handles set with flowerhead terminals and a cast scroll foot rim. The underside is stamped HOWARD & CO., STERLING, 10 PTS (a 10-pint capacity) and the date 1898, and the foot rim is further stamped 5208. No monogram or presentation inscription is visible. Total weight 4.76 lb (2,159 g, 69.42 troy oz).
