Description
Sterling silver backed hairbrush by R. Blackinton & Co., the oval back and tapering handle engraved with strapwork, palmettes and floral garlands around a central monogrammed cartouche. The neck is stamped STERLING with the maker's R, sword-through-B and Co punches and 6327. The bristles are set in a white backing that is cracked and flaking, with small pieces lost near the handle. Total weight 119 g (3.83 troy oz), including bristles and backing.
