Description
Porcelain butterfly dish with hand-painted detail in pink, yellow, blue and orange, black borders and fine gilt wing lines. The raised butterfly body divides the interior into two wing-shaped compartments. Recorded size is 11 × 8½ inches. Several wing tips and rim edges are chipped, including a large chip exposing the white body. The underside has a small blue striped shield or beehive-type mark; the maker and date are unconfirmed.
