Description
Kabuto display ornament of the kind set out for Tango no Sekku, Japan's Boys' Day. The molded helmet has a studded bronze-tone bowl, tiers of red and coral lacing, gold kuwagata horns, gold fukigaeshi turnbacks with floral relief and a gilt dragon crest holding a green jewel. A braided red tasseled cord ties beneath the brim. Rests on a maroon cloth mat over a black rectangular base.
