Description
General Electric Hotpoint Calrod Feather Weight electric flatiron, Cat. No. 119F96, rated 115 volts and 1000 watts for alternating current, a model dated to about 1931 and held in the Smithsonian National Museum of American History collection. Chrome-plated body with matte soleplate, black tiered temperature selector, silver-painted wooden grip on a bent metal handle, and a heel rest carrying the maker's plate with patent numbers. Comes with its braided cloth cord, coil-spring cord guard and detachable plug.
