Description
Framed Navajo sand painting of a Yei figure with an arched rainbow body, holding feather rattles. The figure wears a red mask with a feather headdress and a fringed kilt, worked in red, ochre, black, white and sage sand on a tan ground. A handwritten note on the back, signed and dated 1972, names the subject as the Rainbow People and says the painting is done in natural colored sand. Set in a wood shadowbox frame with a black inner frame and fabric-covered mat; framer's label of Artcraft Frames and Gallery, Denver, Colorado.
