Description
Peruvian mate burilado gourd box, hand-carved in shaded browns with a band of figures in brimmed hats among animals and foliage beneath a zigzag border. The top is cut as an eight-point star lid set in a carved sunburst. Also includes an Indonesian hand-woven rattan lidded basket in a dark finish, its knobbed lid tied to the body with a cord, and a small Tarahumara lidded basket plaited in a herringbone twill.
