Description

Nineteen LPs, mostly early jazz and big band, including six French BYG Archive of Jazz volumes: Bix Beiderbecke (Vol. 4), Young Fats Waller (Vol. 8), Tommy Ladnier (Vol. 22), Gertrude "Ma" Rainey (Vol. 28), Jelly Roll Morton (Vol. 30) and The California Ramblers 1925. Six are on Biograph: "College Jazz in the Twenties" by the Princeton Triangle Jazz Band, "Chicago Jazz 1923-29," "Mr. Armstrong Plays the Blues 1925-1927," "Clarence Williams Orchestra Volume 2 1927-1928," O'Bryant's Washboard Wonders' "Back Alley Rub 1924-26" and the Red Onion Jazz Band's "There'll Be a Hot Time in the Old Town Tonight." Also includes "Bix Beiderbecke 1924" on Olympic, Muggsy Spanier on Everest, Claude Thornhill's "The Song Is You" (1948) on Hep, Eddy Duchin's "Music for Dancing 1932-36" with Frances Langford on Sunbeam, "Winchester Cathedral" on Modern Sound, the three-record "Swingin' Big Bands: 36 Big Band Favorites" set and "The Lawrence Welk Story" box set from GRT and Ranwood. Several jackets carry handwritten numbers and old stickers, and the Swingin' Big Bands box has a split top corner.
