Description
Seth Thomas ogee shelf clock in a mahogany veneer case, late 19th century, with a weight-driven time-and-strike movement. The painted dial has Roman numerals and green corner scrolls, above a reverse-painted glass tablet of an eagle over a stars-and-stripes shield framed in gilt scrollwork. Inside is the maker's paper label, "SETH THOMAS, THOMASTON, Conn. WARRANTED GOOD." Comes with a pendulum and two weights. The tablet has paint loss across the shield, and the backboard has a vertical split running through the label.
