Description
Solid stone figural group of the Hindu goddess Parvati with her son Ganesha, Nepalese style. Parvati has four arms and sits on a double lotus with one leg pendant, holding a lotus bud and a small pot beneath an arched canopy of ribbed leaves; a four-armed Ganesha stands on a lotus at her side. The piece is carved from a dense, heavy stone material, with substantial weight. Rich details throughout includes hair, beaded jewelry, patterned garments and hand held attributes on both figurines.
