Description
Pierced silver plate holder with a scrollwork band, beaded rim and spread foot. An indistinct maker's mark on the inside floor shows a crown over a short line of lettering over a shield enclosing an interlaced script monogram. Attributed to William Adams, the Towle silver plate line made in Italy, on the composition of that mark and the reticulated pattern.
