Description
Mid-century Japanese black lacquer musical jewelry box in pagoda form with abalone shell inlay and hand-painted Mt. Fuji, pagoda, and bridge scenes in gold. A glass-front compartment holds a kimono-clad doll over the music movement; the drawers and cupboard are lined in red brocade. The base is stamped "MADE IN JAPAN" with a diamond "IMPORT" mark.
