Description
Belle Epoque-manner oil depicting a rainy Parisian boulevard, in the style of Antoine Blanchard and Edouard Cortes, rendered with heavy impasto and a loose impressionistic touch. The scene includes umbrella-carrying figures, horse-drawn carriages, awning-fronted shops, a gas-style streetlamp, and Haussmann-style buildings along a wet, receding cobblestone street, housed in an ornate gilt composition frame with Rococo-style corner scrollwork.
