Description
Classic Rapala Fish 'n Fillet knife, the pattern introduced in 1967 and made for Rapala by the J. Marttiini knife factory of Rovaniemi, Finland, with a flexible upswept stainless steel blade, brass ferrule, and lacquered birch handle bearing the burned Rapala fish brand. Includes the original tooled leather Laplander-style sheath with diamond-tooled panel and free-swinging snap belt loop, embossed with the Rapala fish logo over 'J.MARTTIINI' and 'Finland.' Measures approximately 10-1/2 inches overall in the sheath, consistent with the line's 6-inch blade size. Blade is bright with light haze and fine sharpening scratches and no notable pitting; the handle lacquer shows light wear with a dark scuff at the exposed end grain of the butt, and the sheath leather is supple with softened but legible stamps and even patina.
