Description
Antique hand-enameled cut glass dessert service of thirteen pieces, comprising a shaped oblong serving tray and twelve matching shallow dessert bowls. Each piece is bordered in raised white rococo scrollwork and gilt cross-hatched lattice panels hung with polychrome fruit garlands — red-orange fruits and blue grape clusters among green leaves — over finely notch-fluted sides, with star-cut bases and gilt rims; the tray adds a pair of small gilt scroll devices flanking its central star. Unmarked, in the rococo-revival manner of Bohemian glasshouses of the late 19th century. Good condition: the enamel and gilding remain bright overall, with light scattered rubbing to the gilt rims and minor enamel wear; no chips or cracks observed. Tray measures 15 inches long by 8.5 inches wide; each bowl measures 6.5 inches in diameter.
