Description
Chinese Yixing stoneware teapot of compressed globular form, with an overhead loop handle and short spout modeled as gnarled fruiting branches, the domed cover surmounted by a frog finial amid applied leaves and small fruit. The blue-gray clay body is incised with a Chinese inscription in running script, with an impressed square seal mark to the underside and reddish zisha clay visible on the interior. Presented on a pierced carved hardwood display stand.
