Description
Rectangular hinged snuff box in engraved gilt brass, the lid centered with an oval cartouche bearing a crowned 'N' monogram set within a shaped panel of foliate scrollwork. Dense engraved acanthus and floral ornament fills the field across the cover, finished with a gadrooned edge running around the perimeter. The crowned N is the Napoleonic imperial cipher.
