Description
Group of four hand-painted ceramic wall plates. Two Turkish Kütahya plates depict peacocks among cherry blossoms on green and blue grounds, each signed in black script "Selçuk Çini Kütahya/Türkiye"; an Italian Deruta plate features a stylized peacock and scrolling foliage on a gold-leaf ground, with a label reading "Ceramiche d'Arte Mario Sambuco — Dipinto e Lavorato a Mano in Oro Zecchino, Deruta (pg) Italy"; the fourth is a majolica plate with a central fruit-and-floral spray within a blue petal border.
