Description
Hand-knotted Persian Nain carpet with an ivory field and an all-over design of palmettes, rosettes, and scrolling arabesque vines in shades of blue with touches of green. Wool and silk pile on a cotton foundation; verso bears a paper label numbered "38425" alongside an "A.R" cartouche. Accompanied by a Mansour's Rug Gallery Document of Authenticity attributing the weaving to master weaver Habibian of Nain, Iran.
