Description
Hand-knotted Baluch tribal prayer rug in wool, worked in deep madder red and indigo. The field features a stepped mihrab niche flanked by stylized columns and crowned with a row of mosque-lamp motifs, filled with rows of geometric rosettes and surrounded by multiple borders of diamond and cross-stitch patterning. Knotted-warp fringe at each end.
