Description
A tropical-style wooden and rattan storage chest, often referred to as a chairside chest or end table trunk. This specific design, featuring woven rattan panels and a hand-carved palm tree motif, is a hallmark of the British Colonial or West Indies aesthetic. It is constructed with a solid wood frame (often mahogany or maple), accented by woven rattan or pencil rattan panels and bamboo-style detailing. The lid features a central wooden panel with a bas-relief palm tree carving, surrounded by textured woven material. It includes metal ring pull handles on the sides for a traditional campaign furniture look. These pieces commonly serve as a nightstand, side table, or small storage unit, and include a single drawer at the bottom for additional storage. 16"L Good condition.
