Description
A vintage studio pottery piece featuring a bulbous, "fat" silhouette with an earthy brown and blue glazed finish. The design is reminiscent of mid-century modern aesthetic, specifically similar to German lava vases from the 1960s or American studio pottery. The piece has a dark interior and a flared rim, typical of artisan-crafted vessels. Incised to the underside is "Mike M.P." This piece was likely created by Mike Pratt, a British studio potter known for his handmade stoneware. Pratt has used a personal "MP" stamp on his work since the mid-1970s. His pottery often features hand-thrown stoneware with earthy, multi-colored finishes, often blending tones like blue and brown. This aligns closely with the rustic, bulbous appearance and color palette of this vase. 4"H x 4"W Good condition.
