Description
A mini cast iron skillet that is a Wagner Ware 1050, a highly collectible piece originally designed as a promotional ashtray or spoon rest. While it looks like a standard frying pan, its primary historical purpose was for advertising or as a souvenir, often given away or sold cheaply at department stores during the mid-20th century. Authentic pieces are marked on the bottom with the stylized "Wagner Ware Sidney -O-" logo and the catalog number "1050". You may also see a letter (like A, B, C, D, E, or F) following the number, which identifies the specific mold used during production. The "dual pour spouts" on the rim were specifically designed to function as cigarette rests when used as an ashtray. The underside is stamped with the oval "WAGNER WARE" mark and the pattern number "1050". Produced by the Wagner Manufacturing Company of Sidney, Ohio. 4"W x 4"L Good condition.
