Description
A vintage flip-top cigarette lighter featuring an "Arizona" state emblem with a covered wagon and mountains. The base of the lighter is stamped with "SMC MADE IN JAPAN". The lighter has a chrome or stainless steel finish with an attached metal emblem. The emblem showcases a Pioneer-style scene typical of mid-century state souvenirs. Marked as SMC, which produced various souvenir and advertising lighters in Japan, often mimicking the style of American brands like Zippo. Like most vintage lighters of this style, it is a windproof flip-top that requires lighter fluid, a flint, and a wick to operate. Accompanied by a Zippo Mfg. Co. cardboard box and a printed Zippo guarantee insert from Bradford, Pa. 1.5"W x 2"L Good condition.
