Description
A vintage redware coin bank and planter by UCTCI from the 1960s or 1970s. These pieces were popular because they served as both nursery decor and a functional savings bank. It depicts a hand-painted ceramic figurine of a seated child wearing a wide-brimmed straw hat, blue jacket, striped shirt, and patterned trousers. The figure holds a small woven basket at its side and is rendered with stylized, closed-eyed smiling features. Coin slot at back of head under hat, and rubber stopper at base. 6"H Good condition.
