Description
A framed and double-matted color print of Simon Dewey's religious painting "Living Water," depicting Jesus seated at Jacob's well teaching the Samaritan woman. Signed "Simon Dewey" in the lower right of the image, housed in a dark wood-tone molded frame under glass. Simon Dewey is a British-born, Alberta-based artist known for devotional portrayals of Jesus Christ. "Living Water" is one of his widely distributed images, illustrating the New Testament account from John 4 in which Jesus meets a Samaritan woman at Jacob's well and offers her "living water." In Dewey's composition, the Samaritan woman kneels beside the well with her water jar as Jesus, seated on the stone well with a small cup in hand, gestures toward her; a palm tree and distant mountains appear in the background. The print is presented behind glass with a cream stone-pattern outer mat and a narrow brown inner mat, set into a stepped dark-finish wood-tone molding. 19"H x 23"L Good condition.
