Description
Original signed watercolor and ink painting depicting George Washington's Mount Vernon estate in snow, by Virginia artist Leonida Ivanetich of Annandale, VA. Titled 'Mount Vernon, Virginia' at lower left and signed in pencil at lower right, presented in a mat and thin metal section frame. A horizontal panoramic watercolor-and-ink view of Mount Vernon, the Potomac River home of George Washington, rendered in a wintry palette of soft blue-grey washes with the mansion's distinctive cupola and red roof picked out in the middle distance. A large bare-branched hardwood tree anchors the left foreground, with a small evergreen and outbuildings nestled into the snow-covered grounds. The work is inscribed 'Mount Vernon, Virginia' in pencil at the lower left of the sheet and signed 'Leonida Ivanetich' at the lower right. 9"H x 18"L Good condition.
